ITA and Bascom Hall

Information Technology Academy (ITA) is a pre-college program that provides high school students from the Lac du Flambeau, Madison, and Oneida communities and surrounding areas the opportunity to reach their full potential through hands-on technology coursework, college preparatory academics, and personal wellness development that supports their successful completion of high school and matriculation into higher education.

A primary goal of the ITA program is to prepare students to be competitive applicants for UW–‍Madison. Upon completion of the ITA program and acceptance to UW–‍Madison, graduates become People Scholars and are eligible to receive a 4-year, undergraduate, tuition-only scholarship to UW–‍Madison.

Our Impact

ITA began in 2000 with a small cohort of students in Madison, WI.

In 2013, ITA developed and launched ITA-Lac du Flambeau and ITA-Oneida to reach and serve more Native American students.

ITA now reaches approximately 180 first generation, underrepresented high school students from three cohorts in Lac du Flambeau, Madison, and Oneida.

519 students have successfully completed ITA.

  • 280 ITA graduates (53%) enrolled at UW-Madison.
  • 239 ITA graduates (46%) enrolled in 13 other post-secondary institutions.

Over 95% of ITA graduates have matriculated into post-secondary options.
