DoIT Academic Technology provides countless opportunities to gather on campus to learn and discuss a variety of topics. This includes pedagogical discussions and technology demonstrations through Faculty Engagement programs, learning technology trainings from Learn@UW, on-campus sessions for Information Technology Academy scholars, technology workshops from Software Training for Students and special campus events we host or co-host. See the below calendar for upcoming events.

You can filter the calendar using Audience or Categories, which are the names of the DoIT AT service hosting the event. For Software Training for Students, you may use Tags to narrow it down to specific software workshops.

Getting Started with Canvas

August 16, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

This is a 90-minute, hands-on Canvas training session, which will be followed by a flexible 90-minute, self-paced, open-lab session that you are welcome to attend. Participants will receive an in-depth overview of Canvas, and have the opportunity to explore basic functionality and consider best practices. Open-lab time will be used to further explore the LMS and develop courses.
All credit-based courses are now available in Canvas and can be accessed by logging into the Learn@UW Course Dashboard. If you do not have a credit-based course, we encourage you to set up a sandbox course prior to the training. To do so, you can work with your learning technology point-person or submit this form.
