R2C Studio: Increasing students’ active reading

In this workshop, learn strategies to guide and motivate undergraduates to critically read assigned texts so they develop disciplinary reading processes and skills.

Before the workshop, we recommend that you read summaries of methods to encourage students to approach reading as an active process and develop critical reading skills. In the workshop, we’ll delve into selected strategies to help students become better readers. You will have time to collaboratively analyze the potential benefits and challenges of implementing these strategies in your course.

This is part of a nine-part series developed by Faculty Engagement‘s Research-to-Classroom Studio. Everyone is welcome to attend the entire series or drop-in for a single workshop.
