R2C Studio: Engaging students in discussion and collaboration

Tuesday, May 31, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

In this workshop, learn strategies for using class discussion to engage students in meaningful dialogue, and build their critical thinking and collaboration skills.

Before the workshop, we recommend that you read our summary of discussion strategies that encourage students to use higher-order and conceptual thinking skills such as question posing, predicting, and decision making. In the workshop, we’ll delve deeper into selected strategies, based on the interests of participants. You will have time to collaboratively analyze the potential benefits and challenges of implementing these strategies in your course.
