STS: Excel 2: Functions

Friday, October 29 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

IMPORTANT: The entire Microsoft Office Suite is free for all UW-Madison students to download on up to 5 devices. To do so, go to this website, sign in with your school email, and from the “Install Office” menu from the right side, click on “Office 365 Apps” to prompt the download. We recommend you download the software a day before your scheduled workshop.

This workshop expands on the material in Excel 1 and introduces a wider array of built-in functions to make working with data easier.

Topics include:

  • Logical functions including COUNT and COUNTIF
  • Lookup, array, and summary functions
  • Text formatting
  • Linking data between workbooks and worksheets
  • Formulas tab
  • Keyboard shortcuts
