This includes pedagogical discussions and technology demonstrations through Faculty Engagement programs, learning technology trainings from Learn@UW, on-campus sessions for Information Technology Academy scholars, technology workshops from Software Training for Students and special campus events we host or co-host. LaTeX is a document markup language and document preparation system. This free software is used by many at the UW for preparing academic papers because of the high quality of typesetting that it provides. It is especially powerful in creating documents that include complicated mathematical equations or technical diagrams.

Topics include:

  • Introduction to LaTeX
  • Creating a New Document
  • Basic Text Formatting
  • Basic Equation Formatting
  • ProTeXt Installation Guide

Note: Software Training for Students services are only available to currently registered undergraduate or graduate students of UW-Madison. Faculty, staff and former students are not eligible to attend our training workshops or consultations.
