STS: Photoshop 2: Portrait Retouching and Color Correction

July 19 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In this class students will learn advanced techniques used by industry professionals for portrait retouching and color correction. Students will explore RGB and CMYK color modes with hands on exercises for color correction and skin tone balancing. The Healing Tool group will be covered in-depth to remove blemishes, wrinkles and other unwanted distractions. Further, students will learn how to vastly improve their photos by reducing shadows. This class emphasizes the use of multiple layers and layer masks for advanced blending and non-destructive editing.

  • Understanding Color Modes
  • Info Palette with Eye Dropper Tool
  • Color Casts and Levels Adjustment
  • Color Enhancement with Quick Mask Layer Mask and Curves

Note: Software Training for Students services are only available to currently registered undergraduate or graduate students of UW-Madison. Faculty, staff and former students are not eligible to attend our training workshops or consultations.
