Teaching Effectively in Canvas – Assessment in Canvas
May 31, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
A Teaching Effectively in Canvas session, Assessment in Canvas helps you develop and apply smart assessment strategies to your course objectives. Learn to get and give good feedback that strengthens student learning through proven methods of distributed practice and low stakes assignments — and do it more efficiently than you imagined, in Canvas! Participants will learn and evaluate approaches and discuss realistic application using a variety of Canvas tools including rubrics, Speedgrader and peer evaluations.
Regardless of whether you already have courses in Canvas, we strongly encourage you to set up a sandbox course prior to the session, and please bring your laptop to these hands-on sessions.
Teaching Effectively in Canvas is a Faculty Engagement program designed to help make good teaching easier for instructors. It is comprised of four guided face-to-face sessions. Each session focuses on different aspects of teaching and learning and includes examples and resources for doing them in Canvas. During May, DoIT Academic Technology services are hosting a variety of events to help instructors and instructional staff make the most out of Canvas. See all Canvas events scheduled for May 2018.
