Teaching Effectively in Canvas – Interactive Learning in Canvas
May 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
A Teaching Effectively in Canvas session, Interactive Learning in Canvas session explores pedagogical concepts that address building and maintaining inclusive and interactive learning environments both in the classroom and online with Canvas. We examine techniques for fostering positive group dynamics and individual and group accountability. During the session, instructors will experiment with interactive learning experiences in Canvas including Canvas groups, Canvas discussions and Canvas assignments.
Regardless of whether you already have courses in Canvas, we strongly encourage you to set up a sandbox course prior to the session, and please bring your laptop to these hands-on sessions.
Teaching Effectively in Canvas is a Faculty Engagement program designed to help make good teaching easier for instructors. It is comprised of four guided face-to-face sessions. Each session focuses on different aspects of teaching and learning and includes examples and resources for doing them in Canvas. During May, DoIT Academic Technology services are hosting a variety of events to help instructors and instructional staff make the most out of Canvas. See all Canvas events scheduled for May 2018.
