Teaching Effectively in Canvas: Evidence-Supported Learning Activities

Thursday, January 24, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Register

How do you make assignments both interesting and effective learning opportunities for students? What does research say works and doesn’t work? Explore ways to align activities and assignments with research-supported practices at this Teaching Effectively in Canvas session.

Teaching Effectively in Canvas is a Faculty Engagement program designed to highlight experiences of UW-Madison instructors in the Canvas learning environment, and to dig into solutions to challenges faced. In these responsive sessions, participants put forth questions and needs they’d like to see addressed, hear practical ways that other instructors use Canvas, connect teaching practices to evidence-based learning research, and learn how to access and apply resources that can guide them beyond the session. During January, DoIT Academic Technology services are hosting a variety of events to help instructors and instructional staff make the most out of Canvas. See all Canvas events scheduled for January 2018.
