As of June 30, 2019, DoIT Academic Technology’s Learner Experience: Training & Support (LETS) service will end. LETS designs, develops and implements learning experiences for enterprise applications, which includes learning technologies and productivity tools.
The work of LETS has impacted many people especially during the campus transition to the Canvas learning management system when LETS provided training and migration support. The service works in partnership with other groups such as the Canvas Transition Team and Learn@UW-Madison who often take the lead in communicating about the LETS-provided training. Requests have not been robust enough to provide a consistent level of work for staff.
Trainings on the Learn@UW learning technologies are still required, and the Learn@UW-Madison team will fulfill those moving forward. In addition, there are resources still available for more general software like the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and similar tools. First, Software Training for Students continues to provide free training to help students achieve success by teaching the technology skills needed in the classroom and beyond. Secondly, the campus provides access to Lynda.com, an online course website offering video courses taught by industry experts in software, creative, and business skills. Lastly, there are campus partners who provide affordable face-to-face off-campus training and other options.
Finally, Online Course Production will continue to work with campus partners to produce online training for certain use cases such as compliance training for HIPAA. If you are interested in working with this or any of our other services, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
