For instructors and instructional staff using Canvas this semester, the Learn@UW-Madison team will offer the Faculty Center Grade Prep tool to help submit final grades to the Faculty Center during the final grading period from December 15-29.
Developed by our Learner Digital Ecosystem and Teaching & Research Application Development (TRAD) services, the tool updates the grade roster file (generated by the Office of the Registrar’s Faculty Center) with grades from the Canvas gradebook. The tool then generates a file that can be uploaded to Faculty Center for the submission of final grades.
Details on the process and a link to the tool is available in this Canvas KnowledgeBase document. Campus is currently exploring more automated methods for this process in the future.
Canvas, like D2L, is part of the Learn@UW suite of learning technologies and is centrally supported. As with the other tools, DoIT AT consultants are available at firstname.lastname@example.org to answer questions and help instructors use the tools to support student success.
In addition, resources for Canvas users also include the UW Canvas Knowledgebase, the Canvas Instructor Guide, and one-on-one consultations with learning technologists from DoIT Academic Technology, and some schools and colleges.
